Today, the Parexgroup are present in 21 countries with 64 manufacturing facilities, 2 group R&D centres in France and China and 7 local R&D, the Parexgroup achieved 783 million Euros in sales in 2014. Our presence is strong in Western Europe, Asia Pacific, South and North America, North Africa and the Middle East.
We are going through rapid expansion. This is due to solid and selected positions in mature markets and our continuing success and strong growth in emerging markets. Emerging countries now account for 50% of our sales.
Parexgroup has a unique character and definite advantages compared to our competitors: a high quality portfolio of products, strong local brands, dynamic teams, who are autonomous and accountable, and supported by a light corporate team.
We are a recognized innovator in the industry and as reminder we have been the first to introduce dustless dry mix technology in 2006 and more recently to have pioneered cement free powder technology.
All our country companies & partners have a common challenge to outperform the underlying market in which they operate. A key factor to support this ambition is the continuing success of our innovations, an area where Parexgroup has demonstrated market leadership in recent years. In 2014 more than 20% of our sales have come from products that were less than 5 years old.
ParexLanko together with Tradecraft Building Products, the exclusive Irish partner, bring this range of world-class products to the Irish market. Whether it is assistance in specifying a product or its application we remain at our client’s disposal from project design through to completion stage.
Our new innovation centre in France
Opened in June this year, situated near Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport in the Chesnes International Business Park, the largest logistics centre in the Rhône-Alpes region, our new Innovation Centre addresses two fundamental priorities: creative process efficiency and accelerated knowledge sharing within the Group. It has been designed by and for our R&D, technical, quality and training teams for the prime purpose of developing products that address real-world needs.
A laboratory worthy of the Group's ambitions for innovation
The new building facilitates a time-to-market* structure that guarantees the performance of our products. The laboratory is connected directly to the associated test facilities so that technical solutions can be evaluated in real-life conditions, and researchers can draw on the experience of our quality and training teams who work directly with industry professionals. As part of responding even more effectively to the needs of our customers, anticipating those needs, continuing to grow our business and making an active contribution to the process of shaping change, this innovation hub benefits ourselves and our customers, set us apart from our competitors, and adds a new level of proximity to the relationships we have with our industrial partners.
Becoming more Internally Competitive
Another aim of this new lab is to create an ecosystem and a nerve centre for developing and designing our future technologies. The goal is to put together collaborative projects with our other research centres around the world. Acting as a powerful catalyst, we intend the Innovation Centre to create a corporate culture that encourages innovation at every level of the organisational structure to further enhance awareness of the ParexGroup brand and its values. Don't forget that the R&D function is based not only in France, but also in China, with a second central laboratory, and in those countries where we operate subsidiary companies, almost all of which have their own application laboratory.
